My sister, Laura, and I decided to go clean our parent’s old house the other day. The house is on the market, so we need to make sure it stays clean and ready for showing. Funny thing! We get there and guess what I forgot?? The key! Of course I forgot the key. I left my keys with my mom, who had all the kids, just in case she needed to take my van somewhere.

So, there we are with no keys, and 30 minutes away from home. UGH! Bright idea! Let’s clean the backyard. It needs to be done.

We decided to tackle the ever growing thorn situation in the backyard. My parents have owned this house for 35 years. Mom used to have a garden in this corner. My brother-in-law said he has seen poison ivy and sumac back there. But, of course, we didn’t care. We wanna work.

This is what it looked like before. It’s hard to see, but that big thorn bush is growing across the ground, and going up a tree. Now how it got up that tree is a mystery to me. It was like a big bird’s nest. Laura grabbed a rake and started pulling while I cut them to get them lose.

This next picture is after we got half of it in a pile. I stomped on it until we were able to get as flat as we could, and just kept building it up until we got it all.

Yes, this is a bit funny! Our problem now was:

How in the world do the 2 of us carry all of this to the curb. So far, we had cuts galore on our hands and Laura’s legs (please wear long pants doing this). We opened the storage building and saw this thick silver tape. It’s not duct tape. Anyway, brains together girls! How do you get this monster covered in tape. Aha! Rake and hoe in hand, we laid the tape over it and rolled and taped, and rolled and taped. It worked. So, that’s how we carried it out. Picked it up with the rake and hoe thingy and carried it. Didn’t have to touch it that way.

Pat on the back and a high five! We did it. Looks much better now, don’t ya think.

Oh and good news! Must not have come into contact with any poison.

My oldest daughter (Alexis) is 13. She has Aspergers. She’s my bookworm, and my computer genius. Not that they can’t all use the computer (they shock me sometimes with what they know). She is great at computer stuff. Her goal is to become a ‘computer genius’ as she puts it. She’s always finding programs to try, making movies, and just doing things I would never have thought of. She can read so fast it blows my mind. She is a girly-girl. Loves the pretty clothes, loves to be fashionable. She is so sweet and laid back! Plus, she can tell you everything you need to know about every Pokemon out there.

Now my second daughter (Jordan) is 11, she’s a force to be reckoned with. She is my tom-boy, my sport lover, and my fighter. Warning, don’t get on her bad side! She’ll call you out on your wrongs every time. She wants to do every activity known to man, including sky diving. Ahhh! You’ll never find me jumping out of a plane. At the same time, she is very sweet, caring and loveable. Jordan loves to be crafty, paint, everything creative.

My youngest (Logan), 4, is my little man. He’s mama’s boy all the way! Logan has PDD-NOS. What a confusing diagnosis! Doesn’t matter, he is so awesome! He loves dinosaurs, trains, and reading with me or his sisters.

So that’s my kids in a nut shell. I am determined to stay home with them. For me, and my family that is what’s best. So, we’ll see how my journey goes.

Last night I was sitting on my computer in my office. I heard a disturbing noise and turned around to 2 very nasty little wasps flying around the window. I say little but these things were huge. If you ever have a battle with wasps in your home, here is what I suggest you do.

Go running through the house and scream at your significant other.

Have the kids scream with you, it’s way funner that way.

After your significant other kills one and goes to work leaving you to battle the 2nd one he lost, you freak out!

Arm yourself with a can of spray and say a little prayer.

Now totally freak out your Great Dane (oops). Don’t worry, any dog will do.

Get the kids to stand outside the room while you run in and spray everywhere.

Then run out and shut the door that way you have no idea where it went.

Now go in and spray again, you really wanna piss that thing off, really go for it this time!

Repeat steps 4-6 til it goes down and your room is covered in spray

Throw something on the wasps and squiiiish it!

Now go to bed, I know your tired after that

You know what’s funny? The next morning I went to pick the wasp up and it was about a foot away from where I left it. Creepy little things.
